Lucifer's Mansion, Sunday Afternoon

It was another one of Those Weekends, and Lucifer, for his part, had absolutely no interest and going out to see Steamboat Rougey or whatever the hell had probably become of Duke. This thing the island was doing was entirely too PG for him, thank you.

He wandered through the living room in his silk bathrobe, flicking his lighter multiple times. It sparked, but somehow failed to produce a single working flame.

"Bugger," he snarled irritably. "Right. More scotch it is, then."

"It's not like I can set myself on fire," Lucifer said, idly twisting the knobs so the gas went back out.

He opened his eyes back up and looked at Duke. "Let's stay here for the rest of the weekend."

“Exactly,” Duke said. “And sure. So long as we don’t get invaded by anything singing.”

"Do you want me to barricade the door?" Lucifer asked. "Because we can do that."

Duke gave the door — or the direction of it anyway — a suspicious side-eye. “Maybe later. Right now . . . you got any pot?”

Lucifer snorted. "Of course I do," he said, "Have we met?"

He took another drag of his cigarette, then walked across the room to another cabinet.

“Seemed more polite to ask than demand,” Duke said, getting more cheerful with each moment of blessed normalcy. “If we’re going to have to deal with the island throwing singing mermaids at us, we might as well be stoned.”

"Agreed," Lucifer said, opening up the cabinet and fishing out a bag with a few pre-rolled joints inside.

He tossed it to Duke. "Do the honours, will you?"

“What, on the stove?” Duke eyed it suspiciously. “You know I am flammable, right?”

"You've got hands, don't you?" Lucifer asked, already pacing back towards him in case he decided to make a big thing about it.

“Which are also flammable, yes,” Duke said, pulling a joint out of the bag. “Gimme your cigarette.”

Lucifer sighed, but he held the cigarette out obligingly.

Duke put the joint in his mouth and used the lit end of the cigarette to light up the joint. He passed the cigarette back and took a long drag on the joint.

"Thanks."

Lucifer made an amused noise. "You're welcome," he said. "Now I can get the hot tub going or we can grab some snuggies and drink and smoke on the sofa instead."

... yes, he did own multiple snuggies.

Duke was highly amused to learn this. "You have snuggies."

Just because Lucifer was fond of the aesthetics of a certain brand of aggressive manliness didn't mean he felt even remotely beholden to gender norms otherwise.

"They're comfortable," he said, without even a hint of defensiveness. "Although they do fit in more with a white wine and snacks atmosphere, I suppose."

Duke's amusement wasn't even so much a gender thing as an 'as seen on TV' thing.

"What, you don't think a snuggie could go with a good high?"

"I'm willing to experiment if you are," Lucifer said, grinning at him.

"Oh, I'm always down for a good experiment," Duke said.

"Then I'll get the snuggies if you dig around and grab some popcorn or something," Lucifer said, sweeping off into the next room because, again, this was just who he was.

Duke tossed him a jaunty salute, and took another toke off the joint as he went to go rummage through Lucifer's pantry

He'd definitely find some microwave popcorn and chips in there, alongside sizable evidence for Lucifer's sweet tooth.

Lucifer himself dug around until he found two exorbitantly expensive wearable blankets in the back of another cabinet. He took them with him to the sofa, and immediately yanked the reddish-pink one over his head.

Yep. Still comfy.

Duke picked out a wide variety of snacks both sweet and savory and went to join him. “You look ready for a night of ice cream and rom-coms.” He set the snacks onto the coffee table. “Which is fine by me, though I humbly request they at least be gay ones.”

Lucifer rolled his eyes, nodding his head at the green blanket thing. "I was thinking more a good detective or something of the kind," he said, turning on the television. "Preferably with some grisly murders."

“Ooo, yes! And nudity.” Duke scooped up the green thing and after som fumbling, got it wrapped cozily around him. He dropped onto the couch practically in Lucifer’s lap, and offered him the joint.

Lucifer accepted the joint with one hand, and kept jumping from channel to channel until he spotted something that looked like a police station.

He took a drag of the joint and leaned into Duke. "There we are."
