Lucifer Morningstar could not get drunk. The quantity and proof of alcohol that was strong enough to have any noticable effect on his faculties was not possible by virtue of the laws of chemistry.
That was probably why Father had invented certain other substances.
Sufficient to say that it had been Sunday night, with Seivarden once again otherwise engaged and Duke on some kind of mopey war path, that Lucifer Morningstar had finally broken enough to go looking for them.
Which was why he was currently sleeping by the side of the pool in precious little bar a hotel bathrobe. His phone had wound up on one of the reclinable chairs nearby. It was full of a series of increasingly desperate texts addressed to one DETECTIVE, unsent due to a 'delivery error', that the poor device was still attempting to transmit despite being down to a 7 percent charge.
Lucifer Morningstar was going to wake up any minute now. The chance of him regretting his chances was slim to fair.
The portal was due in less than a few hours.
