Not sleeping with Octavia for two days had seemed like a tolerable proposition after the initial suggestion of five entire days (oh lord). In practice, though, it was its own form of Hell.

So there had definitely been a bit of fumbling with the keys (and the take-out). And a bit of... rushing through the food part.

"We certainly ordered too much rice," he said, only halfway through his pad thai (sigh). "Who knew such a thing was possible."

"No," Octavia breathed. Almost without meaning to.

She was transfixed.

Lucifer's abdomen clenched visibly. He let out a strangled breath.

Octavia reached out, ran her hand slow and gentle over his side, onto his stomach.

"You were good."

There was no edge to her voice, now. It was all soft.

"All right," Lucifer breathed.

The softness snuck into his voice, too. What a wonder.

Her hand rubbed gently at his skin.

Lucifer smiled down at her. "All that," he said softly, before he could second-guess himself. "And look what's left behind."

Octavia gave a soft hum again, and nuzzled at his chest a little, in the process of getting more comfortable.

The slowness seemed good to her, too. Focused and nice, all about care and touching him, neither of which had been a priority for the past several moments.

But they had been good for her. Lucifer was only beginning to parse that now, in this moment, with her like this.

He relaxed. In a way. Against her. Into it.

He let the gentler pressure push him upward. So to speak.

Octavia focused on just this one thing. The motion of her hand, the feeling of his skin underneath it, the ways she could add to her strokes with a little extra pressure here, a rub from her thumb there.

The rising and falling of his chest under her head.

This whole thing had the weirdest feeling of being a comedown.

That rise and fall was getting quicker, more shallow, very quickly. They'd stretched this out too far, too long, and now even her hand - combined with the much gentler presence of weight within him - felt sweet.

Lucifer's breathing grew faster. He let out a soft moan, his hips rocking up gently into her touch.

Octavia took it as her cue to meet his movement with her hand, to pick up her pace just a little.

She murmured some soothing nonsense as she did.

It shouldn't have been a surprise to him, how quickly it came - he came after that.

And yet still it was. Lucifer was spilling himself in pulses before the rest of him even really caught on, his hips pressing up into her hand one last time while his hands hung limp within the ropes.

It was a relief, sapping the tension out of every muscle in his body almost at once. He didn't cry out but whimpered, softly, glad.

Somehow Octavia wasn't surprised at all.
