The Cape Rouge, Saturday Afternoon

It had been a glorious week free of drama (bar what Eric predictably brought to the table), and they were capping it off with an even more glorious weekend of nudity, scarves, a light pirate 'abduction', and, well. .

A nap here and there, at least if you were Lucifer; he hadn't exactly been keeping track of where anyone else had been while he was out. Had to keep his strength up.

Which was why he was in the kitchen late into the afternoon, still naked. "First batch of grilled cheese is almost ready!" he called, flipping one sandwich with a practiced motion. Hey, if you were impervious to boiling butter, you made the most of it, no?

Octavia definitely didn't expect him to speak, no. Because...

"You're doing such a good job," she murmured, "that I'm gonna add a third. Open up."

The corners of Lucifer's mouth crinkled up ever-so-subtly. The effect was lost a moment later, as he slid his lips open a fraction further.

And Octavia's slim ring finger joined the others.

She gave a low hum, watching him.

Lucifer let his eyes slide shut, wrapping his lips tight against her fingers, sucking in soft pulses.

Almost like he was thinking about something he'd been doing a few hours ago.

Yeah, Octavia had some guesses to that effect. Her other hand slid down to the underside of his jaw, feeling its subtle movements while she felt his mouth work around her fingers.

When had her breathing gotten a little louder?

Or was it just in her head?

Definitely louder.

He held this for... another moment. Then his eyes opened and he moved back, just a little, letting most of her fingers slide out of his mouth.

And Octavia pulled them back, slowly, the rest of the way. Smearing saliva over his bottom lip and a little bit on his chin along the way.

Her other hand stayed under his jaw, though. Didn't tip his chin this way or that way, but the suggestion of control was there.

Her expression, though on the soft side, was unreadable as she looked his face up and down.

Lucifer's mouth curved into a small smirk. He held in place, saying nothing.

Observing that unreadable expression.

Octavia's thumb brushed over one corner of his mouth, like she was brushing that smirk away.

Then she leaned in, and pressed a kiss against the other corner.

And then she pulled back, and so did her hand. "Get up."

Lucifer's head tilted just so. Recognition, perhaps, or merely registering.

But he rose to his feet all the same.

Octavia took a moment to just look at him, in all his tall, muscular, beautiful glory.

Then she, too, got up. And put her hand up on his shoulder, turning him towards the bedroom.

Lucifer's answering breath sounded almost like a laugh, but not quite, as if he was afraid to break the spell.

He turned towards the bedroom, as instructed, and began to walk.

Octavia's hand fell away after the first step. He knew how to get to the bedroom, and so she just followed.

Once they were there, she closed the door behind them.

Lucifer wondered if they should call on Duke to get in here already, or... he should wait.

The answer to that, he supposed, was waiting for Octavia to speak again. So he stopped by the foot of the bed and turned around, but that was all.

Octavia was working on instinct here, trying not to think about anything too much, so...

So, she hadn't thought that far ahead.

She gave him another long look all down his body. And only spoke again once her eyes flicked back up to his face. "Knees."

Lucifer inclined his head in something like a bow. Then, in one fluid, practiced motion, he sank to his knees on the floor.

He looked up at her.

Maybe that shouldn't have made Octavia's heart flutter, but it did. They were both repressing big things right now, and yet a weird sense of relief came bubbling through.

She'd taken a knee in front of him last week, but it didn't change this.

She hadn't planned to step closer, but she had to, because she had to cradle his face with both hands, looking down at him. And she had to tell him, "Beautiful."

Oh.

The next breath that worked its way out of Lucifer's body was a shudder.

He couldn't look away.

"Likewise," he managed, sounding small and awed.

Somehow that just made him more beautiful.

Octavia's thumbs brushed gently against his cheeks as she just -- looked in his eyes.

She was incredible.

Lucifer was also certain she could see just about anything on his face.

(Mostly, how incredible he thought she was.)

Octavia definitely saw something in his face. She exhaled a breath, and looked at him like the feeling was mutual.

Because it was.

One of her hands trailed down to his jaw again.

Lucifer let out a jagged breath of his own.

His hands slid under the robe and settled on her knees.

Octavia glanced down at his hands as they moved, as they disappeared under his clothes on her, but didn't say anything about it.

"You're amazing," she told him quietly as her gaze returned to his face. Her fingertips tilted his chin up by a fraction more, and they were gentle about it. "And it's like you're just... starting to bloom."

"Am I, now?" Lucifer said, a hint of amusement, more than that of actual curiosity.

Duke was going to walk in on this and have no idea what was going on.

"Don't talk," Octavia replied, with a little tilt of her head, her voice soft with just a stern undertone. "But yes, you are."
