The Cape Rouge, Saturday Afternoon

It had been a glorious week free of drama (bar what Eric predictably brought to the table), and they were capping it off with an even more glorious weekend of nudity, scarves, a light pirate 'abduction', and, well. .

A nap here and there, at least if you were Lucifer; he hadn't exactly been keeping track of where anyone else had been while he was out. Had to keep his strength up.

Which was why he was in the kitchen late into the afternoon, still naked. "First batch of grilled cheese is almost ready!" he called, flipping one sandwich with a practiced motion. Hey, if you were impervious to boiling butter, you made the most of it, no?

"What can I say?" Duke asked. "That's the magic of boats."

Lucifer snickered. "Mm, I don't think it's the big boats that did it," he joked.

Octavia was just going to lean right into that one.

"What, was it the big something else?"

"Feel free to be very specific," Duke said, grinning.

"Hmhm," Lucifer hummed. Had they expected the hands on their respective arses? Because they should have. "Specific enough?"

He was grinning, almost smug, except it reached all the way up to his eyes.

He was happy. For once.

Octavia had not expected it, but in retrospect she knew she should have.

She made a muffled noise that sounded suspiciously like a snicker. "Oh, right," she said. "That."

Duke had expected something like that, though not that in particular.

"The magic of boats and butts, then," he said, laughing. "Especially this particular boat. And these particular butts."

"Boats, butts, something particular to your anatomy that doesn't start with 'b'..."

That was pretty much the only reason Lucifer hadn't gone there. That, and wanting to stay fair to both of them at once.

He glanced halfway over his shoulder at Octavia. "He does have a nice one."

"He does," Octavia agreed with a little snort, and an even smaller smirk, her gaze flicking from him over to Duke. "A very nice one."

"Bulge?" Duke proposed. "And of course, let's not neglect Tavi's amazing breasts."

"Of course not," Lucifer said, leaning into Duke even as he turned to look at Octavia properly. "But I'd argue they are less notable in size and more in... shall we say... overall aesthetics, a far superior metric."

"So you think I have nice tits," Octavia rasped, amused. "Good, I was getting worried."

No, she hadn't been.

Anyway, a beat, and then: "Sorry I left them wrapped."

"I mean," Duke said. "We could just unwrap them now. What do you think, Luce?"

"I think that's a brilliant idea," Lucifer said. See? The emotional moment had passed. He was even groping back for that bulge as positive reinforcement for the grand thinking.

You know, while also reaching over for a bit of unwrapping.

(He was about to be an absolutely oversentimental fool here, folks, sorry.)

Octavia shifted a little more upright, but made no other moves to help.

Presents didn't unwrap themselves, okay?

Duke rewarded Lucifer with a sharp, pleased inhale, then settled his head against Lucifer's to watch.

And Lucifer took his time unwrapping this particular present.

Much like he took his time with them after. There'd been games and kinks and playing earlier that day, but for all his efforts he couldn't get himself to go back there. It was just... him, and her, and him, until they were a tangle of limbs and extremities and entrances, until they were just them.

He would have been embarrassed for that thought a few years ago. But as he came down, his face tucked back into Duke's neck, his arm wrapped around Octavia and his legs tangled with both of them, he couldn't find it in himself.

He felt raw, and open.

And... shivering?

Octavia had taken the chance to take some of the affection she'd been bombarding Lucifer with in words earlier, and turn that into actions that said the same thing.

To both of them.

She felt warm in more ways than one, now. But with her head resting against Lucifer's chest, she also felt him shiver. And turned her head just enough for a haphazard kiss against his skin. Soothing and soft.

Duke let his fingers trail gently up and down Lucifer's spine, his casted hand propped up on a pillow above them so as not to get in the way of hte softness happening here. He hummed a little, under his breath. Not Jimmy Buffet, thank you, but Lou Reed.

It took Lucifer a moment to descend down to Earth long enough to identify what he was hearing, so close to his ear.

Once he did, he let out a soft, strangled sigh and leaned in to press his mouth against Duke's.

Soft, now. Like everything.

Octavia didn't manage to recognize the song. Something about it felt familiar, but anything from her record store days was... a ghost, at best, now.

Her head tilted a little. She watched them.

"Bum bum bum," Duke sang, quiet and a little bit silly, against Lucifer's lips. Then kissed back in lieu of singing the 'satellite of love' bit.

"Bloody Lou Reed," Lucifer said softly.

The significance was not lost on him.

He reached back until he found Octavia's hand.

Octavia's fingers pushed between his almost immediately.

Gave his a little squeeze.

“You’d say that about any singer I picked, wouldn’t you,” Duke mused fondly.
