Lucifer's Mansion, Sunday Night

Date Nights had a certain structure to them, born mainly of habit. But that didn't mean they needed to keep to it.

In fact, the second Lucifer had received Octavia's text, he'd mentally overhauled all of the night's plans and picked up a few munchies and sodas. Dug up some of his excess pillows, and littered them along the living room.

He had-- multiple stashes. After a moment's thought as to what type of... relaxation would be best for the night, Lucifer went digging around for a particular one. Waiting, as he was doing so, for Octavia.

"I guess I can let you," Octavia murmured.

"Good," Lucifer said.

Abruptly, he started to shift on the sofa, arms and hips moving, trying to press his face into her neck and curl into her like a kind of sad octopus.

Octavia made a soft noise, not entirely a yelp, and had the presence of mind to set the glass aside before just... succumbing to his moving.

Sliding her arms around him and pulling him in.

"I love your nose," Lucifer mumbled into her shoulder.

"I know, niron," Octavia murmured. "I know."

"You're so warm," Lucifer sighed.

[okteiviakom]

"Am I? Good."

[my_own_advocate]

"I'm going to stay here forever."

[okteiviakom]

"I'll let you," Octavia sighed, cuddling closer.

[my_own_advocate]

"Thank you," Lucifer mumbled.

[okteiviakom]

"I love you," Octavia murmured. Her hand rubbed circles against his back. "I love you a -- a stupid amount."

"I know." Oh god Lucifer don't sound so close to crying.

"I just wanna make sure you know," Octavia mumbled. "I just want you to know."

[my_own_advocate]

"I know," Lucifer said, "I know, and it feels really good, knowing. But it's also terrifying."

Octavia's hand found the back of his neck.

"Why?"

[my_own_advocate]

"'Cause you don't want to be forever."

[okteiviakom]

"... But I just said you can stay here forever."

Her memory didn't reach very far back, right now. Her confusion sounded very soft, and concerned.

Lucifer made a strangled noise against her shoulder. "Promise?"

"I promise."

What was she supposed to say when he sounded like that?

"You are the best person," Lucifer said. "And the softest."

[okteiviakom]

Octavia shook her head.

It just turned into nuzzling whatever part of him happened to be there. Just pressing her face against him, like she wanted to just disappear into the embrace.

"I want to live on the boat forever," Lucifer decided. He had gotten hopelessly tangled up, and wasn't even sure of where any of his hands were.

How many hands did he have?

"How many hands do I have?"

"... Two?" Octavia replied, with all the lack of confidence of someone who was currently unsure whether it even mattered.

"Feels like it's at least three," Lucifer hummed. "Hm. Oh. Wait."

This was clearly a perfect time to unfurl his wings.

It was always a great time to unfurl his wings. Even when it startled Octavia, like it did right now, although she was remarkably quick about getting over it.

"Oh wow," she breathed. "Ohhh."
