Lucifer's Mansion, Sunday Night

Date Nights had a certain structure to them, born mainly of habit. But that didn't mean they needed to keep to it.

In fact, the second Lucifer had received Octavia's text, he'd mentally overhauled all of the night's plans and picked up a few munchies and sodas. Dug up some of his excess pillows, and littered them along the living room.

He had-- multiple stashes. After a moment's thought as to what type of... relaxation would be best for the night, Lucifer went digging around for a particular one. Waiting, as he was doing so, for Octavia.

"And you're far greater than any celestial I have ever met."

She was.

Lucifer's hand slid down along her arm.

"To you. Not to the universe."

Not that the universe's opinion mattered. But they were debating facts here, right?

She was, anyway.

"And to Duke," Lucifer said, "and our opinions about you are the only ones that matter."

He spoke those words very sincerely. And formally.

"So that makes you the biggest, most important woman in the universe."

"Duke's a human, too," Octavia murmured.

"The most important man in the universe," Lucifer agreed.

[okteiviakom]

"A... blink of an eye," Octavia muttered. "Like me."

[my_own_advocate]

"Never," Lucifer said. He touched her cheek, drawing patterns on it. "You are both eternal, in so many ways."

[okteiviakom]

"No," Octavia replied, softly.

And nuzzled his neck some more. Mm. "You smell nice."

"Yes," Lucifer said. To both. Possibly.

[okteiviakom]

"Mmmh."

Yes.

Yes, she was now fully distracted into smelling his neck.

It was nice.

Though Lucifer's mind, already sobering just a smidgen, hadn't moved on quite so quickly.

"If you didn't want to live forever, you shouldn't have made me fall in love with you," he murmured, and worked his fingers back into her hair.

"Don't say that," Octavia sighed. Shifting, slightly, but not pulling her face away from his skin. "I didn't make you do anything."

"Could've walked away," Lucifer murmured. "From the old, immortal angel who will remember you forever."

He should get the cigarette, he thought to himself.

The slight movement of Octavia's head was probably supposed to be a shake.

"How would I have done that?" she wondered, softly.

[my_own_advocate]

"Could've," Lucifer said.

He turned his head, kissed-- her temple? Something like that. "Now it's too late."

"'S not an answer," Octavia objected. Sort of. Her tone didn't seem to be shaking that soft, slightly faraway quality it had taken on within the last few moments.

"Could've ignored me when we met," Lucifer sighed. He sat up a bit - he really needed another hit or three, to keep being in the same space she was. "Could've ditched me before we started sleeping together."

His movement jostled Octavia. So, the only argument he was getting was a tiny, muted 'hey!' before she slid off to the side a bit, to give him more room.

"Sorry, darling, I need another hit," Lucifer said, grabbing the cigarette. He leaned back with it, producing a lighter and setting it carefully back alight.

Octavia just curled up against his side with another noise that was perhaps a touch disgruntled, but mostly just... vague.

Well. Lucifer made sure not to linger too much as he puffed away at the bloody thing. "You all right, love?"

"Mm-hmm."

That was already more light again.

Probably because she'd found his arm to nuzzle.

One more puff.

"Would you like one more?" Lucifer asked, holding it out for her.

[okteiviakom]

"Hm?"

One eye cracked open, soon followed by the other. And then Octavia veered up a little, if slowly, to reach out and take it.

"That's what I thought," Lucifer said, with a chuckle, and let her take it. "And then we munch."
