The Cape Rouge, Saturday Afternoon

It had been a glorious week free of drama (bar what Eric predictably brought to the table), and they were capping it off with an even more glorious weekend of nudity, scarves, a light pirate 'abduction', and, well. .

A nap here and there, at least if you were Lucifer; he hadn't exactly been keeping track of where anyone else had been while he was out. Had to keep his strength up.

Which was why he was in the kitchen late into the afternoon, still naked. "First batch of grilled cheese is almost ready!" he called, flipping one sandwich with a practiced motion. Hey, if you were impervious to boiling butter, you made the most of it, no?

"You may be the first," Lucifer said quietly. He leaned in and brushed another kiss against Duke's mouth.

He knew he had a habit of leaving abruptly, and people he cared about had never been fond of it, but...

“The rest of them don’t know what they’re missing.”

"Flirt," Lucifer said, voice soft.

So were his eyes, actually.

"Shamelessly," Duke agreed. And leaned in for another kiss.

He could have however many kisses he wanted. Lucifer's fingers slipped into his hair with care.

"I already told Octavia this," he murmured, "But I feel very lucky."

"You're not the only one," Duke said. "I'm just glad something in our lives finally went right."

Lucifer laughed softly. "Suppose we were due one good thing," he said. Which he'd, of course, attempted to sabotage repeatedly over the past few months.

Well. It took practice to recognize it properly.

"Two," Duke said. "Each other. And Tavi."

"Well," Lucifer said, brushing his fingers through Duke's hair. "Perhaps I like thinking of us all as one thing."

"Hmmmm." Duke made a show of thinking about that, even as he leaned into Lucifer's petting. "I guess that's acceptable."

[my_own_advocate]

Lucifer laughed softly. "Well, as long as it's acceptable," he teased.

It had started out as an idle touch, but it was definitely turning into petting now.
