Gabriel put her hands on her hips. "It's Angel of Messages," she said. "But whatever, I got plenty of hot goss without you."

Gabriel snorted, but she only had like, 25% of most of her siblings' disdain for humanity (okay, maybe 50%) and this one had just given her an excuse to talk. "So like, Dad's getting old, and he's losing it?" she started.

"Who told you that?" Lucifer interrupted flatly.

"Michael," Gabriel chirped. "At first we were like, 'What? No way!' But then we heard that Dad was making people sing, turned himself mortal, lost his powers, exploded a human..."

"He put the human back together again," Lucifer said, interrupting her again, this time sharply.

"Can we please talk about the immediate problem here?" Amenadiel said irritably, leaning forward. "Like all of us angels gathered here on Earth, out in the open for all of humanity to see!"

As if to prove his point, Ariel strode past him, entirely uncaring about the two humans who could see her massive cloud-grey wings stretched out behind her.

He reached for Amenadiel's shoulder and steered him away from Gabriel (surely they could all agree that away from Gabriel was a good destination?). "Anyway, if you'll excuse us, sister, we would like to have a chat with dear old Dad," he said.

And promptly ran straight into another familiar face.

Amenadiel's face blossomed into a giant smile. "Remiel!" he said.

They barely had the chance to get a glimpse of Remiel - a stoic, dark-haired woman with a spear, wielding in hunter's leathers - before he had grabbed her into a bear hug.

"Good to see you," Remiel beamed.

This woman looked like she could tear Duke to pieces. Which was to say: hot.

He leaned towards Lucifer.

"Remiel is the angel of . . . ?"

This woman looked familiar.

Not her face, obviously. But the way she was dressed. The little glimpse Octavia had seen of how she carried herself.

Octavia... maybe 'approved' was a good word for it?

"Hunting," Lucifer said. He raised his voice, spreading his arms. "Sister!"

She glared at him as she pulled away from Amenadiel.

He huffed. "Nothing," he said. "Right."

As Remiel walked away, he shot Duke and Octavia a look of minor betrayal.

Duke winced sympathetically. "She's friendly."

She looked at Lucifer. "What was that about?"

“Most people here don’t like me,” Lucifer sighed. “Last time I saw Remy, she insulted Seivarden and called me a slut.”

Lucifer sighed. Of course. "Brother Zadkiel, still taking your Angel of Righteousness role too seriously, I see."

Octavia settled for a good glower.

Sadly, neither the glowering nor Lucifer's response stopped Zadkiel from what he intended to do: he leaned over, very deliberately, and spat on Lucifer's nice, clean Louboutins.

"How dare you," Lucifer snarled, eyes glowing red in an instant.

Yeah, that... was probably the right moment for Amenadiel to return. "Lucy," he said, stepping up beside them. "Father won't appreciate a brawl at His retirement party."
