Lucifer's Mansion, Saturday Morning

Early morning sunlight filtered through the windows--

"Siri, close the blinds."

-- and went away again. Lucifer sighed, shifting away from Seivarden just a bit, and returned to sleep.

He woke up again a short while later in pleasant darkness. Seivarden had somehow managed to return to her earlier position slung all over him, but he didn't particularly mind. He shifted away again and sat up, yawning.

Right. Seivarden had insisted on making this a movie morning. That sounded delightfully lazy right now.

Seivarden, half asleep, was about to shift back to sprawling over Lucifer - because why shouldn't she - but when he sat up she blinked slowly.

Occasionally, in pleasant situations like these, her instinct was to reach out to Ship upon waking up to get a report of the current situation, being able to expect an ancillary ready by her bed with tea...

She blinked again. On the other hand, this was more enjoyable. She rolled on to her back, stretched, and smiled sleepily up at Lucifer.

"Morning."

"Morning," Lucifer said pleasantly, reaching for the half-smoked cigarette that rested in an ashtray on his nightstand. "I don't think I have to ask how you slept."

"You have a very comfortable bed," Seivarden said with a smirk, pushing herself up and leaning close to kiss Lucifer before he lit that cigarette.

"I do remember the plans for this morning though."

"Right, it's hard to forget how excited you got when we found out those entertainments are somewhere in whatever algorithm haunts my television," Lucifer said, amused, waiting for Seivarden to retreat before he slid the cigarette between his lips.

"I'm sure you'll like the one I have in mind," Seivarden said, having no idea whether Lucifer would or not. "I'll make us tea, and then we move to the couch? Do you have anything to eat?"

Something for breakfast would be nice, especially after last night. But first a few kisses down Lucifer's neck.

"I think there are some leftovers in the fridge," Lucifer said, his hand settling idly over Seivarden's spine. "And a box of cereal... somewhere in the vicinity. And cake."

"Cake will be perfect." After another quick kiss she got out of the bed, pulled on her pants and gloves, and headed for the kitchen

Lucifer lit his cigarette and slipped out of bed a few moments later, pulling on his dark robe and stretching.

Should he open the blinds again?

Nah.

Instead he padded into the room with the couch and the television. One of several in the house, but this one was closest.

A short while later Seivarden returned with a tray with tea - the breakfast tea set - and plates with cake. She placed it on the closest table, then made herself comfortable on the couch, one arm around Lucifer.

This was a movie morning and he usually didn't object to her cuddling him.

She reached for the remote.

Lucifer tossed her an amused look about the arm, but he said nothing about it, idly flicking through his television's literal-millions of options in search of the on-demand service they'd found last night.

"Good choice," he said, reaching for a plate of cake as soon as he'd managed to pull up the right screen.

He tossed the remote into her lap.

"It is a good choice," Seivarden said with a grin. "But you don't know that yet."

Cake and tea required both her hands, so she had to let go of Lucifer before reaching for a plate and a cup.

The movie opened with shots of a beautiful landscape with high cliffs diving into a gentle ocean, with a sun rising and two moons still visible in the sky, accompanied by a soft, melodic soundtrack.

"Very moody," Lucifer said, taking a big bite of cake.

With his bare hands, obviously.

"It's actually more of a comedy," Seivarden said. "You'll see. But this is a really popular planet, it has some great seafood and they grow good tea in some parts. And some nice cities by the sea...

"Like that one."

The scene changed to a party where glove-wearing androgynous-looking people were having conversations while drinking and eating oysters.

Cut to a young couple kissing passionately in a hidden part of a garden, surrounded by huge purple flowers.

"Are they up to something illicit?" Lucifer asked, setting the cake down and reaching for the tea.

"Sometimes people just want privacy," Seivarden said with a laugh after wiping cake from the corner of her mouth.

When one of them started to pull off a glove, there was another cut.

Then followed a setting up of the plot, centered around the young couple and the rich family that one of them belonged to. It included silly relatives, two cousins who didn't like the lover, a mother who collected tea sets, another mother who had an affair with someone who was clearly just after becoming a client and getting to live a comfortable life, and a very religious aunt. Oh, and gossiping servants and endless tea parties. Should Lucifer care at all, he would probably have a difficult time telling the sex of half of the cast.

In Lucifer's experience, the best and only real way to tell what kind of equipment anyone had at any point was to take their pants off, frankly. Not that he was about to bring that up. Especially when he didn't particularly care. "So far, very period drama," he opined. "These are popular where you're from?"

"Oh, it's not historical," Seivarden said. "And yes, these are popular, but we get a lot of other things too. I've just watched a lot of movies with space battles recently, since that's all Amaya likes."

She took a sip of tea. "Does it bore you?"

She could change to something with space battles, since hopefully Lucifer wouldn't insist in fast forward through everything between the battles.

"I didn't say that," Lucifer said, "But if we're going to continue watching gossips, I'm going to have to make popcorn."

"What's wrong with cake?" Seivarden said while digging her spoon into the piece on her plate. "Is there anything you prefer to watch?"

She could finish this at some later point.

"Do you prefer the crazy spaceship ones?"

"Is there anything about me that screams 'enjoys science-fiction'?" Lucifer said. "No, I much prefer this. Reminds me of the better shlock on television."

Like Hot Tub High Sch-- yeah, no, not thinking about that.

"Oh, the science fiction movies are terrible," Seivarden said.

She had watched a lot of them just to be able to mock them and point out to Amaya how inaccurate the spaceships were.

Would a space station in orbit of the planet count as science fiction, Lucifer? Because that was where the young couple was headed now, followed by three poor cousins wanting to get their hand on the best batch of this season's tea.

"But-- ah, right. Space ships are rather normal where you're from."

"They are," Seivarden said with a laugh. Her cake finished, she put the plate on the table, then shifted to lie down across Lucifer's lap, propped up on one arm to be able to drink her tea.

Now one of the heroes sneaked into the temple of Amaat on the main concourse of the station, leaving a small offering before looking for the priest who was her old friend.

Lucifer settled an easy hand on Seivarden's side as he sipped his own tea, content to watch in silence for a while longer.

He really was going to get up to make popcorn shortly. He just needed to know how this priest thing unfolded, first.

The priest showed up, talking about how the high priest has cast the omens and how they had said that this was not a day to make harsh decisions, something which had the young hero worried.

"So if the priest says that, it's probably going to take a turn for the worse here," Seivarden said. "It's an entertainment."
