Isla San Pedro, Chile, Thursday Evening

As always, the weather in Isla San Pedro improved markedly when the trio arrived, not too long before sunset. Lucifer didn't notice the change, happy as he was to return here. Especially with Duke's recent state of mind, a place to rest with few to no responsibilities seemed--

Well, perfect.

Shortly after arrival, he made good on his promise to Octavia: he set up a little campfire on the beach, brought out some pillows for everyone to sit on, and fish and vegetables to roast over the fire.

"I also brought some Turkish tea for us to heat up," he announced, flopping down on a pillow whilst brandishing a box.

"Not even one," Octavia admitted freely. "I think I need to... warm up to get back in the scheming game."

"Most of my schemes tend to be of the sexy variety," Lucifer offered. "You know, if we're looking for an easy place to start."

Honey.

“I fully support sexy scheming. And also warm up schemes. I even volunteer to be a target of a sexy warm up scheme!”

Octavia gave a soft snort - and gave Lucifer a glance.

"Well, any ideas?"

"You could start with a touch of suggestive talk," Lucifer said, holding out a cup of tea for her.

Duke checked his fish, then looked at her encouragingly.

And here Octavia was looking a little hesitant, all of a sudden, even as she took the cup from Lucifer. "I wasn't really trying to put myself on the spot like this."

Lucifer laughed. "It's all right," he said fondly. "We can move on, and you can surprise us some other time with your scheming powers. It works better when no one expects it."

"Most schemes do," Duke agreed.

He bumped Octavia gently with his shoulder. "Anything in particular you want to make sure we do, Birthday-Month Girl? Other than scheming, of course."

It probably said something about something that Octavia had almost entirely forgotten any of this was supposed to be about her birthday.

She wasn't going to think about it too closely.

Just shrugged. "I don't know. The usual San Pedro things?"

"Go swimming, go on walks in the forest, have sex, possibly have sex while swimming and/or in the forest?" Lucifer suggested.

Duke raised his hand. "I for one am down for any and all of that."

Octavia gave his arm a little bump with her shoulder. (Mirroring him, just that little bit.)

"Yeah, no one's surprised, snogon."

Lucifer shot Octavia an amused, flirty look. "You like both of us this way."

She was as pervy as either of them.

"It's part of our collective charm," Duke agreed.

Octavia turned the bump into more of a lean, even though she had the cup and Duke had his skewered fish to worry about. Something in her needed the tethering effect of more touching.

"The willingness to get it on wherever?"

"However," Lucifer agreed. "Whenever."

Duke leaned against her in return, tipping his head to rest it against hers.

"We're easy," he said, trusting them to understand that he meant in this particular context and not, like, in general. (Very little about Duke was easy right now.) "So you don't have to be."

Octavia relaxed a little into the lean. (She hadn't been aware she hadn't been relaxed before.) "I'm not easy?" she rasped. "Rude."

Lucifer made a soft, fond noise at the sight of them. "We love you difficult."

Lucifer saved Duke from his anxiety spiral. Instead, he clicked his tongue and swayed Octavia side to side a little.

"Exactly."

Octavia let him. Even gave it a soft huff. "Well, the swimming sex is a better time than doing it on the sand."

Yes, that was clearly the takeaway from all of this.

Lucifer laughed softly. "Mm, like dolphins."

"Or otters," Duke pointed out, giving Octavia another nudge. ". . . Actually, I'm not sure if they have sex in the water or not."

He'd been too depressed even for Animal Planet lately.

"Maybe let's not get bogged down in that," Octavia suggested helpfully. (Sounding fondly amused.) "These otters might."
