Isla San Pedro, Chile, Tuesday evening

Time seemed to slow on this island.

Lucifer was vaguely aware they'd have to go home soon-- that Octavia was likely to get antsy, and Eric inclined to do mad things to the club while he wasn't there.

But this was nice, wasn't it? Quiet when you wanted quiet. Lively fun and time together when you didn't. He'd even started to warm up to all the nature of it all.

Which was, perhaps, why Lucifer had gone for a stroll all by himself this evening, right on the cusp of sundown. He'd wandered down the beach, and then up into the woods. And now, finally, he was heading home, keeping to the lights of the lodge as his North Star.

It was... peaceful.

[[ can be open to those who are there, but mostly to soothe my own frazzled brain ]]

comments

The Beach, Isla San Pedro, Chile, Saturday Afternoon

It was a balmy 20 degrees celsius out here in the tail end of the Chilean summer, and Lucifer, for his part, was making the best of it. He had dragged a nice lounge chair out to the beach as soon as the temperatures started to pick up, as well as a large bottle of wine.

And now he was there, on the beach, absolutely starkers, sipping his wine. The anxieties of the past month forgotten.

Watching the surf, his portable radio spitting Sinatra.

Heaven had nothing on it.

[[ open for them who are there ]]

comments

Isla San Pedro, Chile, Tuesday afternoon

Once upon a time Lucifer had purchased this island in large part to give Octavia some place she could feel at home that was a little-- closer to nature. But after the past few weeks - and especially the singing episode and all the trauma it had dragged back up - Lucifer had found himself craving the quiet isolation of it, himself.

He just wanted to roll up into a safe bundle with his partners for a while. If that bundle included woods, rivers, a coastline and temperatures above freezing, all the better.

And so after a short portal trip, they found themselves here. Lucifer, for his part, had been quick to open up a bottle of heavily alcoholic iced tea, and found himself a spot on the porch of the lodge. The weather was nice, if not overly hot; much better than what they'd left behind.

He took a sip. He looked out at the trees and the water.

He let something in him settle.

[[ for them who are here ]]

comments

The Cape Rouge, Thursday Afternoon

The whole Duke-as-an-otter thing had been cute, and then annoying-slash-concerning, and then singing day had happened and now Lucifer was just over it all.

Which would explain why, by the time even the faintest hint of dusk hit the air, he was already on the deck of the Rouge with a bottle of red wine and a distinctly grumpy expression. He glared at the horizon, and then at his wine, and then drank some more.

All right, he did, at times, spare a glance for the door. The last thing they needed tonight was for the otter to escape again.

[[ for thems who live here ]]

comments

The Cape Rouge, Saturday Evening

Many people were having an exciting night out of dates and drinks and potential pratfals. Lucifer and Octavia? Well, they had only barely managed to wrangle their now-otterified partner back into the boat yesterday afternoon. They were tapped for the day.

Well, not so tapped that Lucifer hadn't been able to purchase a ridiculously fancy-looking portable wooden tub. It currently sat in the bedroom, filled with water and one very snuggly-looking otter.

But tapped enough that Octavia and Lucifer themselves were in the room, on the bed, sort of... watching the otter drift.

"I wonder if he's happy like that," Lucifer mused. "Duke seems like the sort who'd be happy like that."

[[ for her and for some method RP for the both of us ]]

comments

Lucifer's Mansion, Sunday Night

It was Sunday, and so, it was date night for Lucifer and Octavia. They'd had a nice, pasta-inspired dinner; Lucifer had taken his time this time, not wanting to rush through the moment.

Until it was over.

"And what shall we do next, hm?" he asked, as he backed Octavia up towards the kitchen counter.

[[ for her. will be nsfw. ]]

comments

The Cape Rouge, Adrift, From Christmas Day And Onwards

The Cape Rouge had sat in Fandom's harbor for a long while now. Duke had been kidnapped from or with his boat by Haven too many times, and so taking her out had often felt dangerous. But those times were over, now. And so on Christmas Day, they finally faced the risk dead in the eye and took the ship out onto open sea.

Lucifer had made sure their fridge, freezer and hold was stuffed to the gills with food and drinks. They wouldn't have to come to shore for at least a week. The ship itself had gained more than its fair share of fairy lights, carpets and comforts, too.

This was going to be a romantic getaway without calamities. The multiverse owed them all that much.

[[ open for two and some date-related ocd... ]]

comments

The Cape Rouge, Monday Afternoon

Lucifer was home. He had languished in that for a full wonderful Sunday-- all right, perhaps he'd gone a bit overboard on breakfast (and had made his apologies to Octavia, and hadn't done it again this morning, there were enough leftovers anyway) but he stood by dinner. And drinks.

And a lot of piling up on the bed.

He had no particular desire to leave any time soon, but by Monday it did dawn on him that he should check on the house. He had kept it for a reason, after all - a second home, a second space for three people who sometimes very much needed it.

He knew he needed to do it.

He was just... procrastinating.

Or, more specifically, baking. (Chocolate. Why not try a classic?)

Unfortunately, he had now reached the point of the baking where there was nothing to do but sit around the galley, stretched out in a booth, thinking about how he could be using this time to strike checking on the house from his list. Sigh. Perhaps if he poured another shot of whiskey into his coffee? That was a good excuse.

[[ open for thems who live here ]]

comments

The Cape Rouge, Saturday Evening

It was Octavia's birthday.

And it wasn't as if the work - the Work, Lucifer had been thinking of it - had had a scheduled ending this day. But somewhere halfway into it, as he and Amenadiel fought with the tangled strands of fate they had inherited, he'd told himself: Octavia's birthday, that would have to be the end of it.

Even if he had to bend space and time to do it.

It came down to the wire, in the end. A final careful foundation, set within the heart of the Silver City. But he'd made it.

And so, on Saturday evening, there was the sound of wings - and an angel in a suit, bearing a fine bottle of cider in one hand and an equally fine bottle of bourbon in the other, descended upon the deck of the Cape Rouge.

[[ for thems that live here ]]

comments

Lucifer's Penthouse and then Beyond, Saturday

The last few months had been exhausting. Everything about LA, the threat of his apparent daughter and his apparent abandonment of her, and Lucifer hadn't even managed to figure out how to get Dan off of Earth yet.

Well. Apparently the man had now figured out how to possess people, so Lucifer supposed that made his life easier.

But day after day had crept by, and now they were close - so close - to the day he was meant to, apparently, father a daughter and then disappear. And what was he doing? Stalking back and forth through his apartment, drinking. He couldn't even relax enough to make this time with Octavia and Duke worth it.

He eyed the clock.

He stalked.

He took another heavy swig straight from the bottle.

[[ for two, and we are going to try and get through this horrifically stupid finale as fast as possible. ]]

comments

All Over Los Angeles, then Lucifer's Penthouse, Saturday

It had started with an idea: perhaps Lucifer's disappearance from his now confusingly-parented future child's life was because he'd been murdered. Chloe had pitched the idea, and it had grown and grown, especially after he'd found that Azrael's Blade had vanished from his locker. Azrael's Blade! The only sword that could kill a divine being.

And so Lucifer had swept away with the Detective on an old-fashioned case. A case that led them to his disorienting spawn -- "He wasn't murdered. All you told me was you two were together in Van Nuys, near Tenth and Swanson. Lucifer turned the corner, and you never saw him again." "Ah, well, the scene of the crime, but unfortunately not the date--" "Oh, I know the date." -- and then to a dentist's office where the dentist's husband, the receptionist, had apparently gotten himself involved in quite the love polyhedron, and the accidental revelation thereof had left him with some rather murderous feelings towards Lucifer himself -- and then finally to the couch in Dr. Linda's renewed office.

On the couch with Chloe and their apparent? daughter, who looked exactly like the future daughter he thought he'd have with Octavia and Duke, and who somehow still had the blade wings that seemed rather more suitable for one of Octavia's chi--

"She's the only one with motive, means and opportunity!" Lucifer declared.

"That's why you brought me here?" Rory snapped, her eyes wide as she hopped up off the couch. "This isn't family therapy. It's an interrogation?!"

Her eyes went big. "I can't believe you did this. I am not a murder suspect. I'm your daughter!"

She stormed out of the room, slamming the door behind her.

"She takes after you in exits," Linda muttered.

... So none of that had gone well.

And then it had gotten worse.

Sufficient to say, by afternoon, Lucifer was on the floor, his two hands barely keeping their grip on the edges of Azrael's blade as Chloe brought the sword down to bear on him. "Chloe! Chloe!"

"I know what I'm doing, and you're not taking it away!" the Detective growled.

Sufficient to say, much like the rest of the summer, today had been rather a thing.

[[ for them who can hopefully save him. very very compressed from Lucifer 6x05, 'The Murder of Lucifer Morningstar', because we're now hitting the parts of this season i loathe ]]

comments

Lucifer's Penthouse, Wednesday Night

You know what was odd?

When a man you'd personally stashed in a sort of... self-invented afterlife while you tried to sort him out... wasn't there anymore when you went to check on him. Lucifer had searched the very bowels of Hell, but there'd been no sign of Dan.

So he'd gone up to the Silver City. Nothing there, either.

He burst back into the club about an hour after he'd told Duke and Octavia he'd be back. Pushed past the crowd, to the elevator, and-- his phone was ringing.

"Detective," he said, raising the phone to his ear as the elevator doors closed behind him. "I will pop back down soon and I will find him.
Lucifer's Penthouse, Los Angeles, Monday Evening

Lucifer had still not ascended to the heavenly Throne. Oddly enough, there was always just one more thing. Usually a case, like the death of that poor drag queen, or Amenadiel's struggles accepting the reality of the LAPD, or-- well, just things, in general.

One would think that the state of Lucifer this evening - sitting down, sipping whiskey, looking out the window - would have been a regular thing for him, but frankly, it hadn't quite been. All that frantic running about. Solving cases, running night clubs, consoling siblings... In fact, he'd only sat down about five minutes ago, and he was only bothering to take off his Louboutins right now, as an afterthought.

Ah, well.

"I should buy more Häagen-Dazs," he mused to the room at large. "I didn't even realize we were out."

[[ expecting one, but open to the other as well ]]

comments

From Lucifer's Penthouse to Los Angeles, Monday Evening

Right. Lucifer considered himself again in the walk-in mirror. Was his bow-tie properly tied? The rest of the white tux was immaculate, but the tie...

Look, he'd managed to finally come out of hiding on the Rouge a few days ago. He'd spoken to miss Lopez, and discovered almost no time had passed. Which had come in handy for when Linda had come over to yell at him about how hard it was to find an elementary school for a child that was only a year old on paper. And then... time had gone on.

Amenadiel had yelled at him again, but he'd ignored that.

No, if they were going to be in Los Angeles, he was... going to try and take his mind off of the whole God mess. No one needed him self-actualizing anything else in a panic, right? So he'd arranged something special for tonight. A visit to the only magician's club in all the world...

"Now if only I could get this bloody bowtie right," he muttered, as he gave up, and finally stepped out of the walk-in, back into the apartment.

[[ for them, and based on Lucifer season 6 episode 1, 'Nothing Ever Changes Around Here'. ]]

comments

Cape Rouge, Fandom, to Los Angeles (eventually), Monday Afternoon

Lucifer had been having a nice day. A bottle of red. The galley. Something enjoyable to watch on his phone.

"Brother."

Lucifer had been having a nice day. And now he was up on the deck of the Rouge, barking into the phone. "Amenadiel," he said, "Don't you have a child to rear or something?"

"Charlie is fine," Amenadiel said, on the other side of the phone. "He's also in Los Angeles. As am I."

"Ah, so you've moved? How nice, LA weather is excellent this time of year," Lucifer said, already halfway to turning off the phone. "But this could have been an email. Now, if you'd excuse me, I have an excellent Orion Swift waiting for me--"

"No, I mean he is in Los Angeles," Amenadiel repeated slowly. "Our Los Angeles. Time has resumed flowing." His voice brightened considerably. "I'm so glad you've finally embraced your Godhood, Lucifer!"

Oh, no.

"Oh, no," Lucifer said.

[[ for them who live here, please ]]

comments

Lucifer's Mansion, Wednesday Evening

Octavia was back at work. Just like that. Like this was a normal week, and they'd had a normal time, and he entire world hadn't suddenly gone upside down.

Lucifer was having a harder time of it. Perhaps, though, she was right, and what he needed was some... semblance of a routine again.

So on a whim, he'd texted Duke about date night. Then he'd run off to the store to pick up supplies, and... now he was here. In the kitchen. Readying his lasagna for the oven while he waited for Duke to arrive, a bottle of wine sitting on the table.

Everything. Was fine.

[[ for him ]]

comments

They were back, and it was Duke and Lucifer's date night, and-- well. They had a pool room now. And a (second) sauna. If you think Lucifer hadn't moved some items down here just in case they got ideas in here...

"Please, make yourself comfortable," he told Duke, grinning. "I'll back with dinner in a moment."

And without waiting for a response, he swept back towards the stairs.

[[ for that guy ]]

comments

Lucifer's Mansion, Wednesday Afternoon

While the trio had gone to the Bahamas, the contractors had toiled on and on in Lucifer's home's basement. A portion of the soil at the back had been dug out, windows put in to let in some light without allowing anyone to just peer inside.

Inside, there was the pool. And a sauna. And some showers. All done up in-- well. That would be spoilers.

"Let's see what they've made of it, shall we?" Lucifer asked, as he rummaged around for his keys at the front door.

[[ for them ]]

comments

The Fin & Tonic, Sunday Night

Out here, the days were spent in the sun, enjoying the beach, drinks, a good swim or five; and then there were the evening hours, after they'd had dinner at the diner on the porch, where Lucifer searched valiantly for other ways to relax.

No, not just that. Perverts.

Tonight, he'd found himself on the Fin & Tonic's quite luxurious sofa, with a large bucket of popcorn. He paged through Netflix, searching for just. The right. Terrible action movie. Having found it, he leaned forward to grab a refill from his massive pitcher of margarita.

Should he call over Octavia or Duke? Ah, they'd find him if they wanted to join him, surely.

[[ open ]]

comments

The Marina, Cat Island, Tuesday Night

They had traditions out here on Cat Island - or, well, ways to entertain the tourists that came through here week after week. Spirits had flowed freely well into the evening, and dances and costumes and all sorts of razzle dazzle had come through the diner and engulfed the docks in light.

But somewhere near the end of the evening, close to the big finale, three people wandered further and further away onto the beach. Lucifer, of course, was carrying a cooler in one hand, and his long, thin teal shirt hung loose and open around his body.

He was smiling a bit.

"I think we're almost far enough away," he said.

[[ for them ]]

comments

The Beach, Cat Island, Sunday Afternoon

You know, it had been a while since they'd been here. Lucifer had almost forgotten how much being here made him want to stay here longer.

Especially right now. He was hanging out in his beach chair and his small bathing suit, a massive pitcher of Long Island Iced Tea on one side and an excellently-made burger on the other. This was excellent. It was also warm, though not quite tropical, which was also quite good.

And he hadn't had a fight with Duke since he had gotten back. That? Excellent.

Lucifer leaned over and tapped the Bluetooth speaker by his side. Summertime, and the livin' is easy... "Perfect," he sighed, dropping back into his beach chair. "Utterly perfect."

[[ open ]]

comments

The Pier on Cat Island, Monday Morning

Well, nothing had gone catastrophically wrong since Duke left yesterday. Octavia and Lucifer had taken their portal, and found themselves standing immediately in the sunshine. Whatever burdens had laid on Lucifer's shoulders, many of them sloughed off at the sight of the sand and the surf.

Sometimes he missed Los Angeles, still. The beach helped. And while the temperatures could have been higher, they were comfortable, much more so than Fandom. So he had stretched, and set up the Fin and Tonic for inhabitation for the next few weeks, and that had been all.

And now he was here. Sitting on the edge of their pier, a pina colada in one hand, wearing a swimsuit that didn't quite aspire to the heights (or lows) of Eric's small speedos, his legs kicking idly over the water. There was a peace here he was desperate to embrace. He could only hope Octavia could find a fraction of it, as well.

(And Duke, out there on his boat, processing his demons.)

[[ open for phone calls and she who is here ]]

comments

Lucifer's Mansion, Wednesday Night

Duke and Lucifer had had a lovely dinner, including some extended chattering about the upcoming house renovations (Lucifer had such ideas for the design of the pool). But something like a tired had settled in, or perhaps a desire for closeness - and so rather than retire immediately to the bedroom, they had chosen for some other naked pursuits.

"I do love the view from here," Lucifer said, settling back in the hot tub as he stared out over the landscape of the town. "That side of the island is much quieter.
Deck of the Cape Rouge, Friday Morning

Life appeared to have settled some on the Rouge - and in the mansion, where a great deal of conversations had taken place over the last few weeks. Lucifer, for his part, rather enjoyed the calm-- the heavy burden of foreboding and tension had lifted entirely from his shoulders.

It had been, he had to admit, quite a while since the last time he felt that way.

And so he found himself out on the deck surprisingly early, wrapped in an incredibly thick and clearly expensive blanket, sipping from a mug of hot chocolate, feeling all right with the world.

In fact, he might have even been humming one of the classics under his breath.

[[ expecting one, but open! ]]

comments
