The Cape Rouge, Saturday Afternoon

It had been a glorious week free of drama (bar what Eric predictably brought to the table), and they were capping it off with an even more glorious weekend of nudity, scarves, a light pirate 'abduction', and, well. .

A nap here and there, at least if you were Lucifer; he hadn't exactly been keeping track of where anyone else had been while he was out. Had to keep his strength up.

Which was why he was in the kitchen late into the afternoon, still naked. "First batch of grilled cheese is almost ready!" he called, flipping one sandwich with a practiced motion. Hey, if you were impervious to boiling butter, you made the most of it, no?

Talking with your mouth full was generally considered rude, but see if Octavia cared.

"And I never argued with it."

"Just around it a bit," Lucifer said, amused.

Octavia shrugged.

"Just because I occasionally let you be bossy doesn't mean I won't challenge you here and there."

[my_own_advocate]

"I know," Lucifer said, smirking. "That's half the fun."

"Only half?" Octavia replied, and bit off another cheesy chunk from her sandwich.

"There are other fun parts involved," Lucifer said, tossing off a wink.

Octavia eyed him, while she chewed and swallowed. She would have spoken right away, but that had been a big bite!

Eventually she said, "I think this is where I ask 'which ones?'"

"Making you bend over and take it," Lucifer said, smirking.

[okteiviakom]

"Mmm," Octavia hummed, following a tiny snort. "Who would've guessed."

[my_own_advocate]

"What, you don't think that part is fun?" Lucifer asked. Merrily.

"Oh, I think I'm expected to pretend it's not."

So, you know, ignore that 'mmm' from a few seconds ago.

"In the moment, yes," Lucifer said, "Not so much afterward."

[okteiviakom]

It was slightly more complicated than that for her.

But it didn't have to be, right now. "Then yes, I do think that part is fun. Very, even."

"Good," Lucifer said. He leaned away to stretch a bit. "Perhaps tomorrow we can flip the script a bit."

Just because he was the most reliably toppy person in this relationship didn't mean he wasn't an equal-opportunity slut in more ways than one.

"Tomorrow?" Octavia questioned. She didn't ask whether he was already running out of steam for the day, but her amused look was definitely implying it.

"Tomorrow," Lucifer agreed. "Not because I'm done, but I feel like we should stick to a theme for the day."

Octavia's snort was soft. "That's a surprisingly rigid schedule, coming from you."

She was not objecting, though!

"Well, I've already spent most of today unsurprisingly rigid in other ways," Lucifer pointed out.

"Well that's because we are just so damn inspiring," Octavia rasped, amused.

[my_own_advocate]

"That's true," Lucifer said, settling in against her. "You truly are a beacon of inspiration, my beautiful, shapely muse."

[okteiviakom]

Snort.

"That's a lot of new words," Octavia replied, and took what was likely to be her second-to-last bite.

(Guess she'd been hungry, after all.)

"Perhaps I'm in a new good move," Lucifer said merrily, "With a bit of thanks to the curve of those snarky lips of yours."

Octavia tilted her head a little, as if she was giving it some serious thought.

(The idle little lip lick was just because there were crumbs, okay? And for absolutely no other reason.)

"I mean, my lips do seem to make you pretty happy, sometimes."

MOOD, self, not move.

"Don't sell yourself short," he said, watching her mouth. "I'd say rather more than 'pretty'. Though I suppose 'pretty' works in a different context, especially when he's also involved."

"I think that definition of pretty seems like a given, here. In every combination."

Maybe there were crumbs on her top lip, too. Or she was just making sure, with that little tongue flick.
